Accredited Forklift Training

It was in 1972 that ‘forklift training’ became acknowledged after the Road Transport Industry Training Board (RTITB) published a guide on the matter.
Before this time there wasn’t any particular guideline in place and so the introduction of the RTITB guide provided a publication in which employers could reference when training their employees within the industry. It was this publication that made the RTITB destined to become the first accredited body for Forklift Training.
In 1972, the RTITB devised both a practical and a theoretical syllabus along with an examination method. It was the Health & Safety at Work Act in 1974 that ensured this training became mandatory and recognised within the industry.
Many years later the Accrediting Body Independent Training and Standards Scheme and Register (ITSSAR) was formed. The ITSSAR has the exact same responsibilities of the RTITB in the accreditation of instructors and training companies.
Accrediting bodies regularly monitor instructors and training companies to ensure that they are training individuals in an acceptable manner and to a high standard.
Forklift Agency is proud to be approved by the ITSSAR for it’s training of both private individuals and also to companies looking to put staff through the necessary training.
