For the second year running, the top 5 forklift manufacturers have remained consistent and the good news is that there are signs of more growth in the market.
The top 5 as per 2018 are as follows;
- Toyota
- KION
- Jungheinrich
- Mitsubishi
- Crown Equipment
Of the top 5 companies listed above, all five of them saw an increase of over 5% on the previous years figures. It has been noted that there has been a healthy increase throughout the industry where it’s been supporting most asset classes and manufacturers.
To give an idea of figures, Toyota last year had revenue of £13,292 million which was over 16% up on 2017 when their revenue was £11,393 million. The second highest change was seen by Crown Equipment with takings in 2017 amounting to £3080 million increasing by 13% to £3480 million in 2018.
As e-commerce continues to grow the forklift industry is likely to grow with it. Already it is thought that e-commerce is largely behind strong industry sales and the number of motorised hand trucks (Class 3) has seen new demand as these are particularly suited to high-speed/high-velocity environments such as warehouses.
