Professional Instructor Training
Launching soon, Forklift Agency will soon be offering 6 forklift instructor courses per year. These 5/10 days courses will provide the relevant training so that you can be come a forklift instructor either an accredited or an in-house instructor.
Accredited Instructor
If you are already a Forklift Driver and you’re looking to become a self-employed forklift instructor, then our accredited courses are suited to you.
These 10 day courses cover all of the legislation and safety requirements as listed below.
On completion of the accredited forklift training course you will be able to work as a sub-contractor for Forklift Agency, work for another forklift training company or set your own business up.
In-House Instructor
If you are an employer looking at training your own employees, then our In-House Instructor Courses (non-accredited) may be suited to you.
This 5-day course covers all of the training and HSE requirements as set out below, at the end of the course the candidates will be able to train individuals within your organisation and issue in-house certificates.

Our Forklift Instructors courses take approximately 10 days to complete, this can take longer should the candidate not meet the required criteria towards the end of the course.
For the train-the-trainer courses and in-house program, this can usually take 5 days.
It is difficult to give exact figures on how much a forklift instructor can make, this can also vary from region to region.
On average a forklift instructor can earn between £150 to £250 per day, depending on location, travel and course.
It can be very difficult to get a free or fully funded forklift instructor course.
If you are employed, it might be worth speaking to a line manager or the HR department to see if there is any requirements in having an in-house instructor.
If you have been certificated as a forklift driver and are currently employed, depending on your region, there may be funded courses via your local job centre.
When we launch our forklift training courses, they will take place in the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire area.
If this is too far for you to travel, we would highly recommend looking at accredited bodies such as RTITB, ITSSAR or NPORS for centres that are more local to yourself.
The cost of a forklift instructor course varies from location to location, we’d highly recommend phoning a couple of training centres to compare costs.

To become a forklift instructor, you must participate in an instructor course.
Depending on whether you want an accredited course or an in-house course will determine the duration.
The courses will teach you how to operate a forklift to an instructor standard, how to relay your training to the candidates and how to assess them at the end of the course.

Yes, once you have taken an accredited course and you are registered with one of the bodies, you will have the opportunity to work on a self-employed basis with Forklift Agency.
